The Chinese Learning Center (CLC) offers Chinese language courses of varied and succeeding levels, teacher training courses and testing, culture courses and consulting services, as well as summer Chinese language and culture courses.
The CLC teaches Mandarin Chinese using effective, proven methods, allowing students to acquire practical communication skills within a set span. The CLC faculty members are all experienced, native-speaking Chinese teachers who are qualified to teach Chinese as a second or foreign language. Classes are customized to the needs of students. Online, CD-Rom, audio, and video learning technologies are offered where appropriate to enhance the development of students.
The CLC offers a tutoring service to enable students to practice Chinese conversations with Taiwanese volunteers. In addition, the center also offers students opportunities to visit local families or homestay accommodations in the houses of NTCU members to learn more about Taiwanese culture and customs.

Welcome to the Chinese Language Center (CLC) at National Taichung University of Education (NTCU). Established in 2008, the center serves adults intending to learn Chinese as a second language within the distinct setting of a native language environment. Students from all over the world choose to study Chinese at CLC for a wide variety of social, professional, academic, or personal reasons. With that in mind we strive to provide a flourishing learning environment celebrating Chinese languages as well as culture. In preparing thousands since the University’s foundation in 1899, the Chinese Learning Center has inherited a rich tradition of intellectual nurturance combined with an exemplary faculty, helpful staff and unrivaled resources. Students may utilize over 710,000 books, journals, electronic databases, audio-visual materials, newspapers, maps, and microfiches located within the campus library. Additionally, the NTCU library is affiliated with the Cooperative Association of the Libraries of Universities of Education in Taiwan, allowing for interlibrary loans and student access to outside library resources.
In conjunction with top-notch library resources, the university maintains an assortment of recreational facilities accommodating tennis, basketball, table tennis, volleyball, badminton, outdoor swimming, dance and weight training.
Conveniently located in Central Taiwan’s municipal hub, NTCU presents a comfortable living environment within an exceedingly pleasant climate.
