About Us
Location
Chung Shan Medical University (since1960) is located in the area with the most development potential city- Taichung city. It is an active, modern city with an international harbor, airport, pleasant weather, and of convenient transportation. Chung Shan Medical University is in the center of Taichung City. Taiwan High Speed Rail is only 10 minutes driving distance. The railway station and Taichung Metro station are only 5 minutes walking distance.
Campus
CSMU approximately 11.2 hectares (including the main campus, Da-Chung dormitory area and the university hospital). In addition, there are 41.8 hectares of campus in Maoli under development.

Research
In addition to continuing to apply for research projects from government units outside the school, the faculty also continues to demonstrate stronger research capa-bilities in large-scale projects and project exchanges. Approximately 300 research projects from government agencies and more than 900 publications each year from our faculties.
Representative studies in recent years include the development of precision medicine for the treatment of aging and infertility, Brain Science Project Project focus on the Alzheimer Disease, and Cross-domain development of clinical database and AI system... etc..
In order to achieve the spirits of the school “Possess medical humanities and service spirit, Cooperate the pulse of society and medical needs”, the future re-searches will focus on the following scopes:
1. Population ageing and disability problems caused by aging
2. Various health shocks and diseases brought about by modern technology and living habits
3. Improving living environment pollution, food safety and hygiene
4. Medical resources inequties and quality of health care problems
5. Social and medical problems arising from the wealth gap and the increase of disadvantaged groups

Scholarships
The maximum period of scholarship is the years required by applicant's department for undergraduate programs; two years for master programs; and four years for doctorate programs.The maximum amount is $40,000 NTD per academic year for each successful application.

Overseas Chinese students:

Dormitory Fees:

Fields of Study
ACADEMICS
Currently, the CSMU consists of four colleges, which are College of Medicine, College of Oral Medicine, College of Medical Sciences and Technology, College of Health Care and Management, College of Medical Humanities .
There are 21 academic departments and 18 graduate institutes. We have about 450 full-time faculty, 250 part-time faculty, and 260 staffs working on campus. And about 7,566 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled. 274 international students (incl. Chinese) from 22 countries and regions. In addition, as a medical university, we have four affiliated hospital districts Da-Ching District, Chung-Kang District, Wen-Hsin District and Chung-Shing District. Each district has its own specialties and the state-of-the-art clinical facilities, e.g. the first PET scanning machine in Taiwan.
