We have excellent classrooms and teaching facilities that allow you to immerse yourself in Chinese contexts and experience Chinese culture and customs in a comfortable and relaxed environment.
We are located in Nantou County, which is famous for her pleasant weather and numerous beautiful scenic spots nearby, such as Sun Moon Lake, Alishan, Huisun Forest, and Cingjing Farm, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Taiwan while studying.
Our school is easily accessible with convenient transportation. Taichung bus departures right from our campus, taking you to the Taichung High-Speed Rail Station within 25 minutes, and also directly to the Taichung urban area.
About Us
Nan Kai University of Technology (NKUT) was founded in 1971 and it’s more than 50 years. With the educational philosophy of "Realization", "Innovation", "Comprehensiveness" and "Harmonization", we grasp the teaching focus of "theory combined with practice" in technical and vocational education.
NKUT adheres to talent training and student development by comprehensive guidance:
1.”Technical and Vocational Major”- technical and vocational education, professional internship, professional certificate.

NKUT is located at Nantou county, the only landlocked county in Taiwan. We are next to Taichung. By Taichung Bus in Nankai campus, it takes only 25 minutes to HSR station of Taichung. There are many attractions around us, such as Sun Moon Lake, Xi-Tou Forest Recreation Area, Huisun Experimental Forest Station, Cing-Jing Farm, Lotus Forest, etc., with comfortable climate and beautiful landscape. There is also “Central Cross-lsland Highway” between Nantou and Hualien(in east Taiwan). In other words, NKUT is situated at central Taiwan.
In 2001, NKUT got “international and cross-strait exchanges” off the ground to cultivate students of dual degree, foreign exchange programs and short-term study programs. We opened short-term credit classes for vocational and technical training to build an global technical and vocational education brand. Furthermore, we established close cooperation with several sister schools in the U.S, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, China, Hon Kong and Macau.
NKUT added International Programs of Industry-Academia Collaboration for 4 professional fields under the strategy: “Manufacturing”, “Industry”, “Agriculture” and “medica”. Now, we offer “Department of Vehicle Engineering” , “Department of Food and Beverage Management”,and “Department of Automation Engineering”. We pull out all the stops to cultivate talents.
Nowadays, NKUT also cooperated with Overseas Community Affairs Council, Republic of China (Taiwan) in Overseas Youth Vocational Training Program 4-year Bachelor Degree to recruits more international students who intend to study in our school. Based on the extensive experience in technical and vocational education, we provide more diversified ways to cultivate professional talents and contribute to society from educational perspectives.

1.Freshmen such as overseas Chinese students, students from Hong Kong and Macao, and foreign students who have been admitted to our school with official student status (excluding students in various special classes)
2.Overseas Chinese students, students from Hong Kong and Macao, and foreign students with official student status studying in our school (excluding students who have delayed graduation and various special classes).
-Grant projects：
1.Freshman Enrollment Scholarship：
(1)Priority admission scholarship：
Those who apply through various channels (excluding transfers) and are admitted to the school will be given TWD 20,000 for the first semester, which will be deducted from the payment slip.
(2)Elite Enrollment Scholarship ：
Those who apply through various channels (excluding transfers) and are admitted to the school and have excellent results in the document review will be exempted from tuition and miscellaneous fees in the first semester (based on 5% of the number of overseas students in the school with formal student status (excluding various special classes) in the current semester) limit).
(3)Only one of the admission scholarships and bursaries can be received and no duplicates are allowed.
2.Scholarships and bursaries during study year：
(1)Scroll Award: For classes with more than 20 students, the first place student in the class will be entitled to free tuition and miscellaneous fees for the following semester.
(2)Cultivation Award: Those who do not meet the standard for Scroll Award will be awarded a Cultivation scholarship of TWD 20,000 in the next semester, which will be deducted from the payment slip.
(3)Only one of the upon scholarships and bursaries can be received and no duplicates are allowed.
*Those who have obtained the "Special Project Scholorship" from the Ministry of Education, projects from other Chinese government agencies, or projects from other units outside the school are not allowed to apply for upon awards under this program.

- On-Campus Housing: Assignments to the dormitory are decided by drawing lots. One room accommodating four students charges about NT$13,000 per semester per person.
