About Us
We are located in Keelung, a major port city in the northeastern part of Taiwan, which nurtured us one of the leading universities in marine science and ocean technology throughout the world. With an impressive seascape nearby the campus, the beauty and tranquility makes us a perfect learning destination.
Founded in 2014, we provide professional Mandarin courses as well as various interesting cultural workshops, such as Chinese Calligraphy, canoe experience and traditional handicrafts that deepen Mandarin learning from experiencing Chinese culture. In addition, NTOU provides facilities such as computer center, fitness center, swimming pool, tennis court and other sports facilities, as well as the well-stocked library for students to make the most of the time during study at NTOU.
Living in a different country can be challenging. We offer various consultant services for international students and online student discussion group to help students create memorable study experience in Taiwan.
Students who complete the course and pass the TOCFL exam at the A2 level may
apply for scholarships from universities within the University System of Taipei
(including National Taiwan Ocean University).
Students who pass the TOCFL exam at the B2 level and officially enroll at the
university may receive an Advanced Mandarin Scholarship of NTD 10,000 from the center.

• Full-time NTOU staff, researchers, and their family members are eligible for a 10%
discount
• Material Fee: Around NTD 1,000 (USD 31), actual cost depends on teaching materials used by instructors
On-Campus Student Dormitory
• TWD 8,500-14,540 (USD 260-450)/person/semester (2-4 persons sharing one room)
• If you do not require on-campus housing, accommodation costs in Keelung City range
from approximately NTD 3,500/month (USD 100) (room to share) to NTD 12,000/month (USD 370) (studio apartment)
