NSYSU - Farjam Karim from India

Hi, I am Farjam Karim. I'm currently pursuing Master’s program in Telecommunication Engineering, NSYSU. A lot of people have ever asked me, “why do you choose Taiwan for higher education?” My answer is because Taiwan is a beautiful and extremely safe country, plus it offers a lot of exposure in the technical field. Taiwan is the scientific home for semiconductor and other advanced engineering technologies, and after spending 1 year here, my answer is still the same. Now I can say this with more confidence because of the Taiwanese people that I met, the love that I got from local people, the way they help every foreigners whenever we face some issues due to language barriers. And wait, how can I miss out bubble milk tea, cheese pancakes, lemon juice with pineapple jelly, and hotpots! These are only a few out of my many favorite foods and drinks in Taiwan.

Coming to point that why I chose NSYSU for my MS degree, I believe one of the important factors was the feedbacks that I got from the enrolled students and alumni of NSYSU, while I was googling a lot of universities. I enquired a lot using social media, plus after going through the syllabus and publications of College of Engineering, NSYSU, I made my decision that I'm gonna try my best to get a seat in this University. Then my luck favored me, and I got selected with full scholarships for 2 years. When someone gets scholarships from such a prestigious university, there's no way you're gonna think about it twice. My NSYSU scholarship has literally helped me to manage a huge part of my financial planning, and this further motivates me to learn more and to do something new academically.

A lot of people, especially my old friend circle in my country want to know what the advantages of studying in NSYSU are. The answer to this is very simple, that when you join NSYSU you'll experience it. I'm saying this with full confidence because I see myself growing every day after joining NSYSU. The amount of knowledge that I'm getting, plus the mixture of theoretical and practical approach to every problem make the academic part more interesting. Also, the way teaching assistants help students, the teaching style of Professors, and the art they possess to clear our doubts, the fast responsiveness to any query of international students from the international office are the main factors that give me the confidence to say that NSYSU is the best university. Besides, apart from academics, what else have I experienced?

I got to know people from different parts of the world, including their culture, food and language. I have a lot of Taiwanese and international friends. They all are awesome and possess a unique talent. From my personal experience so far I believe I have entered a new chapter of my life. Joining NSYSU brings a very positive impact on my life.
