Tainan University of Technology (TUT) continues to actively promote international exchange. Following the visit from a Malaysian Dato and representatives of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Kembangan, Selangor, on October 30, the Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Alumni Association of Taiwan Universities visited the university in November. President Dr. Yang Cheng-Hung and his team warmly welcomed the delegation, leading them on a tour of various departments to showcase the highlights of Taiwan’s technical and vocational education.
According to TUT, the purpose of this visit by the alumni association was to facilitate preparations for the 2025 Formosa Education Fair and to familiarize themselves with the academic and campus culture of Taiwan's higher education institutions. The visiting delegation comprised newly appointed members of the 24th board of directors, including President Liu Chun-Liang, Acting President Liu Yi-Wen, and Deputy Secretary Zhang Yuan-Rou, among others.
Dr. Yang Cheng-Hung provided a brief introduction to TUT and highlighted the achievements of Malaysian students at the university, such as winning prestigious awards in international comic competitions and the Italian Interior Design Awards. He expressed his hopes that more Malaysian students will continue to shine at TUT in the future.
The alumni association also visited various departments within TUT. The Interior Design Department showcased its professional design studios and drafting classrooms, while the newly established "Future Lab" in the Multimedia Animation Department stood out as a key attraction. The Visual Communication Design Department's photography studio was introduced as a space where students master commercial photography. Additionally, the Comic Department, equipped with specialized tools for figurine painting, featured its own exhibition space to display students' works, leaving the visitors deeply impressed by the creativity and potential of the College of Design.
The delegation also toured the Department of Hospitality Management, exploring professional classrooms and training facilities for Western and Chinese culinary arts and baking. They were also introduced to the Department of Hotel Management’s on-campus training hotel, Yachan, which offers bright, clean accommodations akin to those of a luxury hotel. The group enjoyed lunch at the training restaurant, Xin Zuan, where they praised the professionally crafted dining environment created by the department's faculty and students.
The alumni association commended the university’s dedication to education and the enthusiasm of its staff and students. They expressed their hopes for deeper collaboration with TUT in the future.
