Chang Gung University (CGU), a contemporary university with entrepreneurial spirits, enables our students by offering more than 45 degree programs, 3 International Programs (with all course instructional language conducted in English), across CGU Colleges of Medicine, Engineering, and Management. With a total of 6,610 students, and nearly 600 full-time faculty members, CGU offers a student-faculty ratio of 11:1. All undergraduate and masters students are encouraged to participate in co-op programs either in Taiwan or abroad, with the university’s 90+ global partners. PhD students are offered competitive fellowship, teaching/research positions, as well as scholarship programs from CGU professors top-rated core area or interdisciplinary research laboratories.
As the world advances into 5/6G, Chang Gung University’s Master Program in Nano-Electronic Engineering and Design (NEED), a dual-master’s degree program jointly operated by CGU in Taiwan and Singapore University of Design and Technology (SUTD), offers a unique choice for students to receive 2 master’s degrees in less than 2 years. The NEED program is an 18-month program, with the first 9-month course studies at CGU, and then conduct research in SUTD. This one-of-a-kind Master’s Dual-Degree Program enables students to build up the fundamental and advanced knowledge of nano-electronics and semiconductor manufacturing during the coursework study in Taiwan, with on-site visits to the world’s top semiconductor and DRAM foundries. Afterwards, students conduct an industry-related research projects in Singapore for practical training. Upon the successful completion of coursework and research, students receive 2 master’s degrees that are respectively granted from CGU, Taiwan and SUTD, Singapore.
The NEED program recruits 30 students worldwide each year and is a highly internationalized program. It aims at training international and advanced project leaders in nano-electronics and semiconductor industry. One of the programs’ alumni, Mr. Qishen Wang, shared his experience,
“NEED program is a suitable and amazing choice for those who want to explore the electronic devices, nanomaterials and reliability analysis. In this program, you will have chances to stay in two different universities, take helpful and practical coursework, and finish research projects advised by creative and professional advisors. Here, the best way to enhance yourself is by keeping curious, hardworking, and enjoying difficulties.”
The other two CGU international programs are the International Master Degree Program for Molecular Medicine in Emerging Viral Infections, and the International Master Science Program in Reconstructive Microsurgery. CGU also welcomes students who are interested in our undergraduate programs to explore Information Management and Biomedical Sciences, and other areas of studies at Chang Gung University.
