Language learning is not necessarily to be dull and flat.  Special Mandarin courses consisting of language learning, real-life and cultural experience make Mandarin learning more fun and fascinating.  This happens to be a highlight of the Chinese Language Center’s (CLC) Mandarin courses at National Quemoy University (NQU).

The regular Mandarin courses of at NQU include basic pronunciation and pinyin, to word recognition and reading. Students can feel the beauty of text, phonology, image, and structure in Chinese!

In all these classes, students can use what they have learned in real life. Through situational dialogue, students can become proficient in sentence patterns and vocabulary commonly used in daily life, and enhance their memory. Therefore, we can help students quickly fit into the local society and life.

To ensure the quality of teaching and allow students to get the most adequate practice opportunities in the classroom, the teaching materials are selected or compiled by respective teacher according to students’ languages ability in advance.

Teachers will flexibly use various teaching methods and collocate the folk customs of students from various countries. It is hoped that the students will experience the beauty of the Chinese culture in Kinmen and Taiwan. The curriculum is based on the principle of giving consideration to cultural, exemplary, modern, and locality.

Besides regular courses, CLC at NQU also set up periodically a special class to help students passing the “Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language” (TOCFL) and obtaining this critical certificate required for job hunting.

As for how to get to know CLC at NQU, you can also go through the center’s official webpage, which has a multilingual webpage. In addition, the center also operates a Facebook Fan Page (https://www.facebook.com/clc.nqu). Every Chinese learner is welcome to use the center’s online resources.
