International Program on Urban Governance (IPUG)

A pioneering program in urban management, the IPUG is the premier urban management studies program in Taiwan. As the urban population grows faster, city governments face increasing and complex challenges or problems. In this program, you would learn to help the government cope with these problems. It is indeed a leading program in the field of urban management. All the courses in the program utilize creative teaching methods such as field studies, demonstrations, and workshops to facilitate student engagement.

The IPUG curriculum contains four tracks: sustainability management, real estate management, big data analytics, and smart city and urban governance. Their students are provided with opportunities to participate in international exchanges and establish cross-domain networks with fellow students from a wide range of cultural, religious, and linguistic backgrounds, offering experiences that further enhance their future workplace competitiveness. Students graduating from the IPUG can work as city managers, urban planners, researchers, lecturers, or professors.

The students currently enrolled in the IPUG come from worldwide and thus provide an intellectual and cultural mix of incomparable diversity. The program’s faculty members earned their doctorate degrees from prestigious universities worldwide (e.g., the University of Cambridge, the University of Washington, etc.), links that provide IPUG students with ample opportunities to establish international connections.
