Since I arrived in Taiwan, I have experienced many things that I would never have tried in Korea. Firstly, I made all kinds of friends, friends from other countries as a foreigner in Taiwan. It was not as easy as I thought it would be to make friends when I came to study abroad.
The second thing is culture. I think that learning about culture and experiencing culture are two different things. Compared to the Taiwanese culture that I had found before I came to Taiwan to study, the Taiwanese culture that I have experienced and experienced now is much more than I thought.
The third thing is that we have a variety of classes at our school. I am currently listening to rock climbing, volleyball and tennis classes. If I had gone to other schools in Taiwan instead of our school, I would not have had the opportunity to attend such a variety of classes.
The fourth is language. As I had studied Chinese when I was young, I thought I would be fine with the language, but when I came to Taiwan, I found that there was a lot I could not learn from books. After studying hard and working hard, the communication problem disappeared after a year in Taiwan, and now, even though the countries are different, we communicate together in Chinese, which is a very valuable experience for me.
Fifthly, confidence. When I first came to Taiwan, I was not able to approach people because I was not confident enough. I learnt that you can't move forward without confidence and now I can handle things with confidence and everything goes smoothly.
When you are faced with a new situation, you learn new things about yourself and your surroundings. Studying abroad has given me some valuable skills, including adaptability, confidence, communication and problem solving.
University will create an unforgettable experience through which I will be able to create a successful future.
